Local foundation gives $75K to aid seriously ill children

A Scottsdale-based nonprofit organization has donated $75,000 to help seriously ill children in and around Arizona.

This is an initial donation to the Starlight Children's Foundation from the Frank Edward Piccolo Foundation, which businessman Jim Piccolo founded in 2007 in memory of his father, who died of cancer. The gift will pay for a PC Pal, a laptop computer that provides entertainment and filtered Internet access for young patients, for Scottsdale Healthcare, as well as a recreational outing for about 100 Starlight Foundation children and their families.
